About
Remembered for her modernist landscape paintings, she held high-ranking positions in such prominent artistic organizations as the Canadian Group of Painters and the Heliconian Club. An exhibition of her work, "Spirit of Freedom," appeared at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in 1994.
Before Fame
During the late 1920s, she trained at the Ontario College of Art; later, she studied in Europe with abstract expressionist Artist Hans Hofmann.

After her death, her work was collected in the archives of Queen's University (in Kingston, Ontario).
Family Life
She and her four sisters grew up in Ontario. Their father, Robert Samuel McLaughlin, founded the Canadian branch of the General Motors Company.
